Free download wifi connectivity, faxing, scanning, printing with latest HP PSC 500 wireless drivers download for windows 7, 8, 8.1 32-bit/64-bit Notebook.
I have an old PSC 500 printer-scanner-copier from HP -the parallel-port type- that works perfectly well for my needs. I have recently upgraded to Windows 7-64 Ultimate, and while the printer works fine, Windows 7 cannot even see the scanner part of the PSC 500, like it's not there. I have even asked HP support, downloaded and installed every path that they sent me and nothing. On the same computer, I have also installed Windows Vista 64-Ultimate (dual boot) and on Vista, the printer and the scanner work perfectly well. So it is not a hardware or BIOS problem.
Can anybody here tell me how to make Windows 7 recognize the HP PSC 500 scanner, or how to force the Vista drivers to work on Windows 7? From what I've researched, the same problem seems to crop up in Windows 7-32. Of course I have checked that the settings of the parallel port are exactly the same in Windows 7 as in Vista, and have also already checked every conceivable trivial mistake that I could have committed. The scanner is not seen at all by Windows 7.
